Power of perseverance

Crafting is apart from my family a second most important thing in my life. It’s my dream, my passion and my escape. It brings me the joy and fulfilment. However from time to time I’m finding myself in creative impasse.

As I couldn’t finish anything I’ve decided that this is a time to leave all my projects and commissioned cards and simply enjoy myself that free creative process, when I can make whatever I like. I started rummage through my scraps looking for some paper I could use up. I choose few pieces, which were to small to use them on my 8 x 8″ cards, but they are still large enough to make something nice from them.

I really wanted to use a beautiful stamp set and embossing folder I got from Christina Griffiths and her Card Making Magic Kit. I loved that kit from the very first second I saw it on the store shelf. But only few days ago I had a chance to try it and play with it for the first time.

Not sure, weather it was tiredness or all this things I had on the back of my head, but for some reason at first I just couldn’t came up with any idea how to use that stamps. I had this vision in my head, but somehow I couldn’t transfer it onto paper. I was so close to give up myself… but I heard this little voice in my head saying: “Marta you cannot give up!!!” So I’ve tried, and I’ve tried and I’ve tried… and finally the break through has come.

The result is this beautiful card I’ve made. I love it so much that I’ve decided to do couple more and turn it into a little set of cards I could give to someone as a present.

I really love that lacy look of this embossing folder!!!

After few tries I decided to use a vellum, and to spice it up a little bit I coloured it from both sides, using different ink colours.

I’m especially proud of turning the flat flower stamp into this beautiful dimensional flowers. I also decided to switch the leaves for a bigger one. Both flowers and leaves where stamped with embossing powders.

I also used embossing powder to stamp this lovely quote, which I have cut, and once the die was still attached to paper, I have add a bit of light blue ink to enhance this frame.

Decided to use other scraps and create a few more cards in similar style.
